I’m taking part in the March Meet the Maker instagram challenge, where I post a different process, technique, tool, idea, love etc each day of March. The idea and daily prompts were first thought up and put together by @joannehawker. It’s a great idea and hopefully one that encourages us all to share a little more behind the scene action @alicerobsonjewellery
The picture shows the process of making a ring, this one an 18ct yellow gold ring with blue Zircon and blue diamonds. First step was melting some scrap gold, turning that into wire using the rolling mill and a draw plate. Then making the 4 individual rings, soldering them together and soldering in place an handmade setting (made from sheet) for the main stone. The smaller stones are set into tiny sections of tube and soldered onto one the the 4 bands.
It’s as simple as that!
