This silver hexagonal box, which is one of my Mums most prized objects sitting amongst her favourite pieces, was the very first thing I made! For those of my friends that went to Cranbrook school and remember Wednesday afternoon activities (no not sneaking off to Mums pool!), this is where it all started! I still find it hard to believe that I undertook such a complicated project (current students will appreciate that!). All I can say is that she must have been a very patient teacher.
How I’d like to find out who she was and thank her for what turned out to be the very start of my journey in jewellery making. Of course you can all see where the obsession for making boxes came from. I’ll post some more pics soon of other boxes made through the years…theres a particularly good story with the one I made for my husbands 30th birthday!
