This remodelling story started with a much loved ring where the opal had unfortunately broken in two. The client also had a diamond ring that had lost its centre stone and a gorgeous cabuchon ruby that she wanted to set.

Melting and reusing gold from the rings, firstly Alice made this simple Ruby and diamond ring. The broken opal was recut into two drop shapes and a beautiful pair of earrings was created.

As with many of Alice's commissions and remodelling jobs, not all the decisions are made at the beginning. Some of the finer details are agreed and finalised on the journey as the piece comes to life, making for a truly unique and bespoke piece of jewellery.
